Why do I need the Rapport software?

Traditional security software is good, but it can only do so much.

Rapport goes one step further to protect your bank card number, sign on password and other sensitive financial information. Rapport helps prevent malware and fraudulent websites from stealing your financial information.

However, it's vital you use Rapport alongside your own anti-virus software and firewall. It's not designed to remove security threats from your computer or replace your other protection.

Do I still need anti-virus software if I install the Rapport software?

Absolutely. Anti-virus software is a vital part of your computer's defences and you need to make sure it’s up-to-date. Rapport is designed to work with your anti-virus software and firewall - it's not designed to replace them.

Which websites are protected when using the Rapport software?

Once you’ve downloaded the Rapport software, it will automatically start protecting you while you are signed into the President’s Choice Financial personal banking website You can also set the software up to protect you on other websites too. To do this, visit the Trusteer website.

Please note that the Rapport software will not automatically provide protection while you are signed into PC MasterCard and PC points. These sites provide high levels of protection. Details can be found in the security section of pcfinancial.ca

Will the Rapport software work on my computer?

Note that this software is compatible with:

Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows Vista (32 and 64 Bit Operating Systems) or higher
- Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 and 9
- Firefox 3, 4, 5 and 6
- Google Chrome Version 3 through 13
Recommended Service Packs:
- Windows XP SP3
- Windows Vista SP2
MAC OS Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7)
- Firefox 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Including 64-bit version)
- Safari 4, 5.0 and 5.1 (Including 64-bit version)

You must have a minimum of 512MB RAM (or more) for Windows XP, 1024MB RAM (or more) for Windows Vista / Windows 7 installed on your computer for Rapport to operate properly.

At the moment, the software will not work with:

AOL browser
Modified browsers

Rapport is currently not compatible with screen readers. Although you can install it, the protection won’t be able to work properly.

I’ve got a problem with the Rapport software. Can I get help?

Simply click on the Rapport icon and choose “help and support” from the dropdown menu. You can also use the help function within the Rapport software. Instructions on how to access this can be found on the Trusteer website.

You can also e-mail support@trusteer.com. You’ll receive an automated response within 20 minutes and a detailed response within 1 business day. For your protection, never include financial details or any other sensitive information in an e-mail.

I have some questions about the Rapport software. Who can I ask?

Where can I find the terms and conditions for the Rapport software?

You will be provided with the terms and conditions once you start the download of the software. You will need to read and accept these terms and conditions before the software is loaded and you may also choose to cancel the download at that time.

What can I do to ensure my online banking account information is safe?

It is important that you do not share, disclose, or provide your President’s Choice Financial bank card number or any of your passwords to another party or website other than President’s Choice Financial. It’s also important that you do not save your bank card number or password on any publicly accessible computer.

Providers of President’s Choice Financial services will never send you an e-mail requesting your banking information. If you receive an e-mail requesting this information, please let us know as soon as possible. Although an email may appear to be reputable, links in it could potentially direct you to a fraudulent site.

Always keep your browser up-to-date with current versions and security enhancements
Install a personal firewall
Avoid file-sharing sites to prevent unauthorized access to your computer and its data

Use "strong" passwords - combinations of letters and numbers - that are difficult to guess
